How player-run businesses work in GTA roleplay

What is a player-run business in GTA RP?

It is a business operated through player characters: a garage, rental company, club, restaurant or another service. The useful question is what customers and staff can actually do together during a session. A building and a name alone do not create those interactions.

What GTA World demonstrates.

GTA World’s business feature guide, first published in January 2018 and updated in 2019, documents staff recruitment, shared fleets, shifts and delivery needs. Its UCP changelog also records a business map showing owned businesses. These are references from an established GTA V community, not confirmation of GTA VI features.

The lesson for our design is practical: make it easy to understand who a business serves, who works there and which other businesses it needs. Our GTA6LARP economy vision applies that idea to a Miami-inspired city.

Example: one hotel booking.

A guest checks into a hotel and asks for a car. The hotel contacts a rental company. A mechanic checks the vehicle, a driver delivers it and the guest heads to a club opening. The club needs performers, security and transport. A creator can stream the people and events, with filming boundaries agreed first.

One request gives several characters a reason to meet. This is a proposed GTA6LARP session, not a claim that these systems are playable today.

Write a business concept in five parts.

Service: what would another character ask you for?
Customer: who needs it, and why would they come back?
Team: what can a new player do without owning the business?
Connections: name two other roles you would work with.
Session: describe an activity with a clear beginning and finish.

For a rental company, that could be a hotel delivery completed by an owner, mechanic and driver. For a club, it could be planning and running an opening night. Keep the first concept small enough that other players can understand their part.
